In Strange Harvests Posnett travels to seven areas of the world to study bizarre natural objects and the way they’re collected by humans. From edible bird nests to coffee beans digested and expelled by civets, Posnett chose a diverse and often entertaining selection. However amusing, I was disappointed by the absence of a certain imaginative or compelling quality to his stories. It often felt like I was reading a sequence of Wikipedia articles rather than the intriguing adventures of someone in search of the strange.
